conflict draft final

In what ways does my product use or challenge the conventions of existing products

During our pre production we looked at many similar films and existing products in order to gather inspiration and as such they have influenced our final product, we looked mainly at titles such as Shank and Kidulthood both films take place in South London and centre around urban youths, in these existing products like my own there is a conflict that surrounds the main protagonist usually centred around violent gangs.
On the left is the existing product Shank and the right my product Conflict, as well as similar themes and story, both are gritty dramas which are usually shot in darker lighting we used this technique as well in order to give a darker image and impression of the story and characters. Rather then challenge we followed the conventions of this genre in order to create a product that we know has a solid market and audience as we wanted our piece to be well received.

How did I attract/address my target audience?

To attract my audience I referred back to my initial audience research in order to find the preferences and interest of my main target market, I found that my target audience were regular users of mediums like youtube, by making use of this I can attract my audience to my product with ease because of its frequent use.  Knowing that my target audience is interested in urban dramas and would be likely to view my product I created a poster profile of our protagonist and film title in order to attract an audience and raise awareness of our product.

I addressed the the audience through the use of familiar conventions that they can relate to within my product using familiar locations, familair mise-en-scene such as hoodies and urban attire, the animated tet that we used at the end of the product I feel is very striking and attracts the viewers interest right at the end.
